# Boomerang Ideas > Boomerang Ideas AG (Zürich, founded 2021) is an AI-powered market research institute. It combines two engines: Live Social Samples™ — real respondents recruited fresh on social media for every survey — and Silicon Samples — simulated respondents from AI models. Confidence Guard™ scores every simulation for plausibility on a scale of 0 to 10, so a simulated result says how far it can be trusted. Surveys run in 24 countries. Institute member of Swiss Insights; research partners Universität Basel and Johns Hopkins University (Innosuisse project). Boomerang Ideas has two product brands for two audiences. Both are self-service; they differ by audience and by support. - **boomerang.ai** — for startups and SMEs: ask a research question in a chat and get simulated answers in 10–30 minutes, or real respondents in 3–7 days.
